I didn’t really know this drawing before talking about it with its new owner. I drew it at the little market I go to every Saturday morning. I wasn’t thinking while drawing it. Then I looked at it and realized I had no empathy for the artist crying on it. I wondered what she might be crying about — and realized it was about money and kilos. I found this round lady with her self-satisfied expression and thought she was exactly the right image to put below the crying artist. That day, I decided to love every kilo and every euro in my life.

The invoice is a bill for driving too fast on the highway between Marseille and Munich. Two countries, two languages on the bill. Kilos and Euros. Cheers.
